The California Indian Manpower Consortium, Inc., was established in 1978 as a nonprofit to work for the social welfare, educational and economic advancement tribal communities and the urban Native populations in its service area.
The primary purpose is to offer activities designed to meet the employment and training needs of the client population.
Other purposes of the Consortium are to: promote community programs to assist with becoming economically self-sufficient and to alleviate poverty; provide services to help with developing funding strategies and partnerships that will lead to greater economic vitality; and promote and provide activities designed to improve educational attainment levels.
