Mykaiah Charley serves as a Development Associate with Native Ways Federation, bringing experience in grant development, community outreach, Tribal engagement, and nonprofit and community-centered work. Most recently, she worked with New Mexico Grant Administration, supporting Navajo Nation Chapter Houses and Pueblos across New Mexico through grant research, funding analysis, project development, and direct outreach to Tribal communities to identify infrastructure and funding needs.
Mykaiah’s commitment to Native communities is rooted in grassroots organizing and advocacy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she participated in grassroots mutual aid efforts across the Navajo Nation, supporting community members and families during a critical time of need. She is passionate about Indigenous rights, land justice, Tribal self- determination, and strengthening Native-led solutions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies, with a concentration in Leadership and Building Native Nations, and Business Management from the University of New Mexico. During her time at UNM, she served in leadership roles with KIVA Club and was a three-time Chief Manuelito Scholarship recipient.
A proud Navajo woman and mother, Mykaiah is deeply connected to her culture and committed to creating a stronger future for the generations to come. She is especially inspired by the opportunity to raise her son with a strong connection to his culture, community, and identity.
